Where our 2022 Spring and Summer photos were taken, part one: Prince Edward County.
Prince Edward County - south of Belleville, Ontario - once a sleepy, pastoral expanse of rolling farmland and picturesque villages and the great Sandbanks beach, and still all of the above plus, now, dozens of wineries, plus cideries, plus art, antiques, shopping, great food, and great photo opportunities. Picton, the largest community, was the location for the above shot of a roadside garden.
This shot of hollyhocks we found by cruising the back roads of PEC. The barn belongs to the famous Canadian jazz musician Guido Basso and his gracious wife, who kindly gave us gave permission for this photo.
Waupoos is a small community on the east side of PEC. This shot of the fantastically picturesque marina was taken at dawn from the public wharf.
This Great Egret came in to do some fishing at dawn in the shallows by the Waupoos marina.
A farm family in Waupoos maintains a multi-acre field of sunflowers with public access. This beautiful male Indigo Bunting claimed part of the field as his nesting territory!
